Cancer is a disease in which some of the body’s cells grow uncontrollably and spread to other parts of the body. Normally, human cells grow and multiply (through a process called cell division) to form new cells as the body needs them. When cells become old or damaged, they die, and new cells take their place.
Sometimes, this orderly process breaks down, and abnormal or damaged cells grow and multiply when they should not. These cells can form tumors, which are abnormal masses of tissue that also affect the surrounding tissue, known as the tumor microenvironment. This can result in suppression of the immune response and alterations in tissue metabolism.
Tumors can be benign or malignant. Malignant tumors spread or invade nearby tissues and can travel to distant parts of the body to form new tumors (a process called metastasis).

What is a phytomedicine: Phytomedicines are plant-derived extracts that have been standardized and chemically and biologically validated. They are used in the same way as conventional medicines; the difference is that they contain multiple molecules together, which is why they are currently referred to as polymolecular medicines.
